Machete-wielding robbers raid London Rolex shop
Armed robbers targeted the Bucherer Rolex boutique in Knightsbridge, central London (located at One Hyde Park, a luxury development near Harrods), in a brazen daytime raid on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 (shortly before 11:00 GMT).
Six suspects, wearing motorcycle helmets and black clothing, rammed the entrance with a stolen motorcycle (which they abandoned inside the store), then threatened staff and members of the public with weapons including machetes (and reportedly claw hammers or similar tools in some accounts).
They stole a number of high-value Rolex watches—estimates from reports suggest around 20 pieces worth hundreds of thousands of pounds (some sources cite up to ~$1.3 million or £1 million+ equivalent).
The group fled the scene on four mopeds parked nearby. No one was injured during the incident.
The Metropolitan Police's Flying Squad (specializing in organized robbery) responded quickly—officers arrived within minutes—and launched an investigation, appealing for witnesses. At the time of the initial report (likely shortly after the event), no arrests had been made, and Det Ch Insp Scott Mather emphasized the alarm caused in a busy area and the commitment to swiftly identify and arrest those responsible.
(Note: Subsequent developments in February 2026 saw three men—Dean Dinan, 29; Elliot Campbell, 31; and Dyllan Gowie, 27—charged in connection with the robbery following coordinated arrests, though police continued hunting the remaining suspects involved in the group of six.)
